A New Chapter for BoxBoat
Today, I am proud to announce that IBM has completed its acquisition of BoxBoat Technologies. We are excited to join the IBM family as part of the Global Business Services Hybrid Cloud team. For additional information on the acquisition, please visit the IBM Newsroom.
Ken, Will, Kristen, and I founded BoxBoat 5 years ago with the idea that we could help transform enterprise organizations with Docker container technology and DevOps practices. Over time, our mission grew in scope to include Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, security, and digital platform strategy. During this time, we built an extremely talented team of engineers to support and accelerate our customers. We have helped major financial institutions, publications, product companies, and the Department of Defense adopt and scale their DevOps practices to deliver software faster.
In the 5 years since BoxBoat's founding, container technologies and Kubernetes have become ubiquitous for both software vendors and consumers. DevOps and DevSecOps have become the fundamental building blocks of modern IT and Platform Operations which allows organizations to effectively deliver value to their customers. During this time, our company built a mature consulting practice to help organizations achieve their goals.
During the same time period, IBM has been heavily investing in hybrid cloud services and products. BoxBoat will have a strategic impact on IBM customers as they begin and scale their DevOps practices. This acquisition represents the natural progression of BoxBoat - we have the opportunity to have an outsize impact on our current and new customers, with the backing of IBM.
As of today, we are now officially BoxBoat Technologies, an IBM Company, and we cannot be happier. We look forward to working with existing and new clients to accelerate their digital transformation efforts.
